History
The developing technology of Ferrography was sold to the Foxboro Corporation in the mid 1970’s.  In 1984, The Standard Oil Company of Ohio (subsequently BP America) purchased the technology from Foxboro and began heavily marketing Ferrography through a new division called Predict Technologies.  Ferrography began to catch on in the petrochemical, mining, and steel industries and Predict Technologies became synonymous with the science of Ferrography.

In April 1991, Predict Technologies was purchased from BP America by the Alan J. Reid Family and relocated to Valley View, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland.  In November 1994, the Reid family purchased DLI Engineering Corporation of Bainbridge Is., WA a vibration analysis company.  DLI has the longest running vibration analysis contract with the US Navy.   Predict Technologies and DLI Engineering Corporation combined forces in the marketplace, under the trade name “Predict/DLI” and offered a full line of predictive maintenance services.  DLI Engineering Corporation was sold to ABB Corporation in August 2002.  Predict is a division of Reid Asset Management Company, a privately held Corporation owned by the Alan J. Reid Family.
